Inside Pain

PAIN, as defined in Webster’s Dictionary, is physical or mental suffering arising from injury or disease. The origin of pain may also have an emotional aspect, and others, still, believe that there exists a spiritual component as well. Regardless of origin, pain relays to the sufferer that all is not well. Pain of recent onset, with a direct cause, is referred to as acute, lasting three weeks in duration. By the time that pain becomes chronic, the cause is not so obvious. Response to pain is as individual as there are people. The search for relief from pain by the sufferer can be all consuming, robbing their dignity and self-esteem. About 40% of chronic pain sufferers require rehabilitation from chronic narcotic use. Most pain sufferers are caught in the vicious cycle of PAIN-ANXIETY-TENSION-PAIN.-CYCLE.

The PAIN-ANXIETY-TENSION-PAIN cycle describes the condition of the chronic sufferer. This vicious cycle plays out daily in the daily in the life of the chronic pain patient, and molds the patient’s behavior. Associated symptoms:

SLEEP DISTURBANCES

PHYSICAL DISABILITY

DEPENDENCE ON MEDICATION

DEPRESSION ANGER AND FRUSTRATION

SOCIAL WITHDRAWAL & INABILITY TO WORK

Holistic &  Integrated Recovery

At Rand Recovery, we are in the business of treating acute and chronic pain. Often, we see patients that have developed chemical dependencies due to prolonged pain treatment with narcotic medications. Gone unresolved, this can lead to other addictions and depression. Recovery  options vary depending on whether the chemical dependency predated the pain problem. Regardless, we offer a unique blend of combined pain and chemical dependency recoveries, along with psychological services tailored to each patient.

At our Treatment Centers…

 Everyone deserves recovery!

When other therapies fail, many chronic pain sufferers find relief with us. We offer a fully integrated, or Holistic  approach to pain recovery. Under the guidance of our experienced medical director, Dr. Jerry Rand, our management team, which includes psychiatrists, psychologists, physiotherapists, chiropractic and nurses, formulate recovery plans tailored to each individual. Patients who benefit from Holistic Pain Recovery include personal injury, Worker’s comp., neck and back pain, chronic headaches, sports injury, and chemical dependence.

In addition, Dr. Rand is one of a very few physicians who continue to accept lien cases for work and accident injuries.  Dr. Rand realizes that the vast majority of patients do not possess the insurance, income or funds necessary to sustain themselves during the recovery process.  Many patients are left having to return to work while still injured or in pain.  We have a track record of working with the patient, attorneys and insurance companies to provide the most complete care and allow the patient to recover on their own terms.
